Walt Disney Museum

This past weekend my family and I went to San Francisco for an early birthday present. We went to the Street Food Park and The Walt Disney Museum.

The Street Food Park was amazing! My family and I saw this particular park on Food Truck Wars and have wanted to go ever since. My sister and I both got a Sushi Roll, my dad got a pork nacho platter (basically a heart attack waiting to happen), and my mother got sliders with the best fries I've ever had!

After lunch we headed to the Walt Disney Museum across town. The museum is in The Presidio of San Francisco and it is GORGEOUS! It was one of the those amazing San Francisco days, cloudy and perfect temperature.

The Walt Disney museum started with Walt's life from birth all the way to his untimely death. It was amazing being able to see the background that Walt came from. When I talked to my father after the visit he said he loved that Walt narrated the entire exhibit. Walt having a television show every week and doing countless interviews talked about his life from birth, getting into the film industry, Disneyland, and Walt Disney World. The museum was then able to use all of the recordings to narrate guests along in Walt's voice so it felt like he was leading us all along. All the memorabilia from the Walt Disney Company was mesmerizing. The museum also emphasized animation and the amount of dedication it takes to make a movie. I loved hearing interviews done with the women who worked in the painting department. They had the jars of paint specifically used for filling in the stills. The amount of dedication given toward each single frame was amazing to witness and there was such a lovely feeling to see the history of Walt Disney and his magnificent company.

On the lower floor we were ushered into the beautiful area dedicated for Disneyland and Walt's television shows. They had this huge diorama of Disneyland from the past and present. They also had a car on display from Autotopia.

Overall it was a lovely day. The staff were so friendly and full of history. This is a must see for anyone who has an appreciation for animation and Walt Disney. The Walt Disney Museum is filled with so much that is guaranteed to help you learn something new every time you visit.
