Saving Mr. Banks

Since the delightful trailer with clips from the 'practically perfect' Mary Poppin's movie sprung onto my theater screen, I have been enthralled with everything that is said about this enchanting movie. From my intent Pinterest searching and pinning I've found some portrayals that were skewed (something that commonly happens) in order to make the film have a happy ending.

One hiccup was that P.L Travers bawled at the premiere of Mary Poppins because she hated it so much. She walked out of the theater she couldn't finish the movie! She was appalled nothing was as she had intended or imagined Mary Poppins to be. 
She couldn't believe that Walt Disney had added animation to a film that she insisted would have no animation. She also couldn't stand many of the other choices Walt Disney made regarding Bert (Dick Van Dyke) and the children.
